We are into a wonderful Spring Season!
I'm very pleased to announce the MCCA's new partnership with College of Marin!
By this time you may see MCCA's Lion Dance Team featured on the cover of COM's Summer brochure. MCCA will offer 3 classes this Summer as we launch our joint adventure.
- Chinese Language Classes - Four 1-week long Mandarin summer camps. The children will learn Mandarin in a friendly, fun, active environment with a very reasonable cost of $228.00 per child per week! With free swimming after camp – you must supervise your own child.
- Brush Painting - 7 weeks of once weekly adult Chinese brush painting, with well known master Mr. Alan Cheng S-Lun. $103.00 Material included. What a deal!!
- Dynasty to Democracy - 2 weekends of Chinatown tour with Dim Sum Brunch from Dynasty to Democracy. The first weekend will be June 22nd where we will learn about the history of the Chinese Struggles, 2nd weekend June 29th will be Dim Sum brunch and a walking tour. This is for our MCCA members only. You may join us for Dim Sum only for $22.00 per person.
MCCA’s mission is to promote the understanding, appreciation and preservation of all aspects of Chinese Culture, including the language, history, customs, music, art, and cuisine of the Chinese-American people. I'm excited for this opportunity for all Marin County residents get to know us better. Let's join forces to welcome the partnership, and then enrich the upcoming programs.
MCCA is also leasing spaces at the Indian Valley campus from COM as our new headquarters. We are planning classes and activities on the weekends for adults, young adults, teens, and children. We are in the planning stages and are open for suggestions, so any fun and interesting or inviting topics will be welcome.It is time to think about volunteering for the Marin County Fair, July 3 - 7. This is our biggest fundraising event. We welcome you to pitch in. Contact Kim Luu @ LuuK@sutterhealth.org to reserve your desired shifts.
